First Aid
We have 4 First Aiders at Work who have attended the three day course.
In addition to the First Aiders at Work, there are also 14 Emergency First Aiders who can assist with small bumps, lumps and grazes and minor accidents.
Please click here to see a list of all First Aiders on site.
If a pupil becomes ill in school then parents/carers are contacted for the pupil to go home.
A pupil who uses an inhaler, EpiPen or other specific medication should have this marked with his or her name.
Please let us know any helpful medical information about your child e.g. disabilities or allergies. Please inform us of changes of address, telephone numbers and also any situation of circumstances at home or in the family, which might affect your child’s behaviour or work in class.
Child Protection
The Department for Education and Employment and the Welsh Office guidance make it clear that schools and colleges have an important role to play in the protection of children against abuse.
This is confirmed by the Policy of Conwy County Borough Council, which sets out the necessary procedures to be followed by all staff.
Ysgol Nant y Groes therefore has a duty to refer any concerns about the well being of pupils to the Social Services Department and School Medical Officer for further advice.
