UNCRC Article 3: Everyone who works with children should always do what is best for each child

The governing body of Ysgol Nant Y Groes has a number of responsibilities.  Essentially, we work with the Headteacher to help run the school.  While the head is responsible for its day-to-day management, the Governors provide oversight as a “critical friend” – to set strategic direction, review progress and both challenge and support the management team.

Governors come from a variety of different backgrounds – all are voluntary and members attend regular full meetings of the Governing Body as well as sub-committees to do with the school’s finances, staffing, premises, curriculum etc.
